Cubbies

Thank you for allowing your child to be a part of our Awana Cubbies program this year. Every Cubbie leader and helper has been subject to a background check, for the safety of all our clubbers. At Cubbies Club we learn about God and His Word, play games, do crafts, sing songs, and learn Bible verses. We know your child will enjoy every part of our club.
Cubbies nightly schedule is separated into 3 equal parts:
- Council/Story Time
- Game Time
- Handbook Time
1. Council/Story Time
We use this time to tell clubbers a bible story. Often times we use puppets, felt boards, and costumes to bring the message of Jesus to Cubbies in a way they can understand. Many times Council/Story times will involve a craft, activity and sometimes a snack. This allows us to use our senses to reinforce the bible lesson.
2. Game Time
We play age appropriate games that help us get the wiggles out and enjoy our fellow clubbers. It is best if your child arrives at club in tennis shoes.
3. Cubbies Handbook Time
- All Cubbies start with the Bear Hug Brochure. Once completed the child is eligible to purchase a uniform vest, bag, and handbook.
- At home, the child learns and recites each section. Two helps are allowed per section.
- The parent signs the pages to indicate that the section has been prepared for club.
- At Cubbies Club, the clubber again recites each section to a Cubbies leader.
- The leader signs the section to indicate that it has been passed.
- 3-year-old Cubbies are not required to know references.
- 4-year-old Cubbies are required to know references.
- Under the apple tree is extra credit work that helps apply the lesson for better understanding.
Cubbies are Awarded Patches for their vests for sections passed.
- Luv E. Lamb patch is awarded for completion of a Lamb Path. There are four Lamb Paths per book.
- Ern E. Elephant patch is awarded for completion of an Elephant Walk. There are four Elephant Walks per book.
- These patches are iron on for your convenience. The handbook guides you on their placement.
